Musical Theatre Camps

Every Summer and Winter holidays, Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre runs Musical Theatre Camps. The aim of the Camps is to provide high quality training to young performers, whilst giving them the practical experience of working on a show.

Previous Camps

Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre has staged Summer and Winter Camps since 2011.

The aim of Camp is to provide students with a platform to learn the skills of Musical Theatre, develop their confidence, and put into practice all they learn through a practical performance at the end.

Previous productions have included: Legally Blonde, The SpongeBob Musical, Frozen Jr, Newsies, The Addams Family, The Sound of Music, Oliver, Grease and The Wizard of Oz to name a few!

Students from as young as Grade 1, all the way through to 18 years of age have been able to participate and experience the joy of theatre.

Upcoming Camps

Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre is back in January 2026 for our Summer Camp!

The fabulous mystery show, The 48 Hour Musical, will take place from the 16th-18th January 2026.

Summer Camp is open to those between Prep - 18 years of age (in 2026). All levels of experience are welcome - the more the merrier at SCYT!

Lead roles will be cast via audition. For those who just wish to participate in the Camp and Ensemble, you will be able to just sign straight up.

For those wishing to sign up straight up to Camp and as a valued Ensemble member, there is no audition required! Simply head to our Online Registration system. Once you have created an account here, you will be able to secure your place in the show by following the online booking as soon as bookings open.

Summer Camp is $120 for Ensemble members, and $240 for those with lead roles.

Fees include all tuition, rehearsal materials and a show memento.
